Support Ongoing Land Protection and Stewardship Efforts

Your support of the Trust's land protection and stewardship efforts provides many benefits to the region, including:

  • 18,500 acres of permanently protected forestland, wetlands, shorelines, farmland, mountaintops… significant lands which preserve the natural beauty, wildlife habitat, and community character of the Lakes Region.

  • Public access to conservation areas, including the 5,500 acre Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area and the 2,500 acre Red Hill Conservation Area.

  • Extensive trail networks for hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and other low-impact recreational uses, which are maintained by the Trust and its volunteers.

  • Preservation of shoreline on Winnipesaukee, Squam, and other lakes and ponds.

  • Protection of islands, including Stonedam Island on Lake Winnipesaukee and the maintenance of its dock for access by boat.
Your support of the efforts of the Trust is greatly appreciated! The Trust raises financial support in several ways, including requesting donations to the annual fund, raising funds for specific land acquisition projects, and seeking contributions to the endowment.
