The Lakes Region Conservation Trust is an independent, non-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to conserve land for wildlife habitat, for thoughtful public use, and for the preservation of regional character. The Trust manages 57 properties totaling nearly 6,000 acres, including Knights Pond, Red Hill Conservation Area, Copple Crown Mountain, Stonedam Island and Five Mile Island on Lake Winnipesaukee. The Trust is a membership-driven organization which operates on a modest annual budget and accomplishes its goals through the initiative and dedication of local volunteers.
